Lou Ngap Fan (卤鸭饭) @ PJ State

This Lou Ngap(卤鸭) or braised duck stall at Kam Heong Coffee Shop in PJ State has been around for decades and in fact it needs no introduction. It's my favorite place for duck rice. In my opinion and based on my taste buds, this is the best braised duck rice in Klang Valley, if it's not in Malaysia. Noticed the LCD hanged on the ceiling? The video clip actually showed how they chose their ducks and the way the ducks were reared at their own farm. I'm sure they have no problem of selling 300 ducks a day on weekends.
The other side dishes available... braised pork knuckle, pork intestines, duck intestines, braised egg, braised mushroom and 'ham choy'( salted veggies.)
There were no less than 10 helpers for this stall. The food arrived quite fast... just about 15 mins.
We ordered half a duck. The duck came with lots of gravy... to go with a bowl of rice is sinfully delicious!
The duck meat is tender and juicy as well as lean. You don't find a layer of fat between the skin and meat on their duck.
The special made chili dip-sauce to go with the duck.
You can choose to have a bowl of porridge instead of rice. It's equally delicious to go with the duck especially if you will to add the duck gravy into your porridge.
The other side dishes that we order....
The braised egg.
The pork intestines.
The duck intestines.

Look at the crowds during weekends.... go early, or you may have to wait for table if you are late.
It was a satisfying meal and the total bill came to RM 34.00 (excluding drinks) for 5 adults.
If you happen to be in PJ and can't decide what to have for your dinner, just go straight to Kam Heong for this duck rice. You will never regret and I'm sure you would come back for more.
They are located at No.8, Jalan Tenggah, just next to OUB bank in PJ State (New Town). Business hour is from 5p.m-9:30p.m. Location map.
