d' italiane kictchen

As a Starwood member, I'd usually go to Prego at Westin Kuala Lumpur or Villa Denielli at Sheraton Imperial for my fix whenever there is a crave for Italian food. Because the quality of food, the service and most importantly the discounts that we get there, we just don't bother to look for any other Italian restaurants. (I will blog about these 2 places in future). Somehow due to people's strong recommendation on this Italian Restaurant at Jaya 33, I decided to give it a try.
Their menu... offer wide spread of Italian dishes.
They offer at least half a dozen kind of soups on their menu and we chose the Mushroom Cream Soup that came in a big bowl. The portion is enough for 2 persons. You would have problem to finish it alone if you are too greedy to order one each for everybody. - RM 8.90
The succulent and tender piece of Braised Lamb Shank served with mashed potatoes and mixed green. It's delicious and huge! - RM 31.90
The meat just came off from the bone. You can spare your knife, just use the fork to do the job. By the time we finished it, the bone was polished clean and white that you may have mistakenly thought it was a job done by a puppy!
The Seafood Marinara in cream sauce... You can have a choice of different pasta - penni, spaghetti, fettuccine and etc. We chose penni. The penni was just perfectly cooked where it was not soggy. For those who love cheese, the sauce is creamy and rich. The pungent taste of cheese will melt you away! The portion was not that large nor it was particularly small, but just enough.
One piece of big prawn, one big mussel, some fish and squid priced RM 24.90
Their choice of cakes was rather limited. We were not particularly keen on the choice that on displayed, so we did not try any of them. You can check it out yourself and let me know if it's good!
They also have a good selection of pizza but the other person who dined with me had phobia in pizza, so we did not order any as well.

The interior...

The ambiance is charming and cosy. The decor is simple yet elegant.

For those who smoke, cigarette or car exhaust, you can choose to dine at their romantically-lit alfresco dining area which is over looking the main road of Jalan Semangat.
The total bill came to RM73.35 inclusive of tax. I guess it's pretty standard for Italian dining, right? Worth a try!
